What our students say about us

After graduating university , I worked in a law firm. I felt a lot of pressure from my job, because I don't speak English well. Therefore, I started my unforgetful journey to New Zealand. People in New Zealand are so easy to get along with. All my friends in school are very patient with my English. Teachers correct me in a very friendly way. I love New Zealand. |

Life in Auckland

> NZIoS Home / Student Life
-
At NZIoS, we can arrange different types of approved accommodation through authorised agents。In most cases, you share some part of your living area with strangers, so you have to be aware of other people's habits and respect them, as they should respect yours. If you are not sure of anything, you should ask your teacher or student advisor at school and then they can explain and assist.
Homestay
For students who would like to experience living with a local family, this is great option. Your homestay will provide your room complete with a bed, cupboard, and study desk with lamp and bathroom facilities. Your homestay should provide you with breakfast and dinner from Monday to Friday and with breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. You generally use public transport to get to and from school. You do not have to pay for separate use of water or electricity but your homestay may ask you to limit your use of both as these commodities are expensive in New Zealand. You will be asked to pay for your own cell phone or overseas calls and if you have a computer or want to use the homestay computer, you may be told to limit your use as you are charged for use of the line. You may not get the food you are used to, and every homestay has its own sets of the rules. A homestay can be a very rewarding experience. All the Homestay families have been checked by NZIoS through approved qualified Homestay cooperation partners.

Backpackers
Backpackers accommodation and budget accommodation offer an affordable option for your New Zealand travel. New Zealand backpacker hostels provide cheap accommodation.
Originally geared to the younger traveler, backpackers and budget hostels also cater extremely well for groups and families. Accommodation is available not just in dormitories, but in ensuite rooms, single and double rooms. At backpacking accommodation and (most) budget hostels the emphasis is on communal living with shared kitchens, bathrooms and lounges. Kitchens are equipped with everything that you might need, from cups to crockery, pots to pie dishes, washing up liquid to tea towels. Backpackers and guests cook for themselves (or in a group) and clearing away dishes and keeping communal areas clean and tidy is expected. Backpacking lounges tend to be great places for meeting backpackers from all around the country and the world. Most backpacker accommodations and budget hostels provide excellent information about the local area, tours and activities. Also available to backpackers are discount vouchers and passes which can save money on further accommodation, transport, sightseeing and activities. Much of New Zealand backpackers accommodation is located in areas of great natural beauty and in many of New Zealand's visitor hotspots. This means that you can see the best of New Zealand without necessarily spending a huge amount of money on accommodation. Backpackers and hostel users generally host like-minded people in these relatively cheap accommodations, sharing for example a love of the great outdoors and outdoor pursuits such as hiking and adventure sports.
